What:Your spreads are due today. You need to put your best 6 photos with captions, body copy, headline and subheadline on the Google Drive. Why:To have some stories done so out ladder can get started as well. How:1) Set team goals (first five minutes of class)
2) Students will have until the end of class to upload their completed materials Go to Google Drive--> Spreads folder--> Fall folder--> Create a new folder with the name of your spread as the title of the folder 3) Design team work on finishing their spreads 4) Team leaders, focus with your team to make sure that they will be successful

What:This will be the last day that students will have to work on their stories before the deadline of tomorrow. Why:To make sure we get our stories done so that we can start helping our ladder get created. How:1) Typing test for first five minutes of class
2) Set team goals for the day 3) Ashley will meet with the design team to help finalize layouts 4) Evie and Zhane meet with your groups to make sure they have the materials they need to be successfull 5) Pamela and Kris will have a rough draft of the ladder before end of class on Thursday What:Photographers/ Writers: Work on the spreads that yu've been assigned to (Evie, Zhane and Ashley will be walking around to check-in with you. Design Team: Should have their designs ready; print Pamela/ Kris: Contiue to work on the ladder, and assign new stories Why:To continue to work on the book, and maintain a good schedule. How:1) Meet in the first five minutes with groups and put your new goal for the day up here

Why:To gain feedback from your peers and know how you can improve on your work. How:1) Students will meet in their groups in the first five minutes of class and come up with their goals for the day.
2) In your groups, everyone will print out their stories, photos, etc. and gain feedback from their groups on how to improve their work. 3) After critiquing, students will hang up their edited stories/ photos on the wall. What: Students will meet with their teams and create a team contract with eachother, decide on what you will do and what you want your team members to do. Why:We need to have an agreeance with eachother on what their job is and what they need to give eachother in order to be successful. How:1) Take the typing test within the first 5 minutes of class 2) Get into your group, and talk to each other about what they need in this class and from each other 3) Create a contract with each other and print it out and have everyone in your group sign it Announcements:We have created a new Google Doc to help teams know what they're going to do for the day; groups will post what they are going to do for the day here.

This week's focus involves documenting homecoming week and learning how to use quotes to write your body copy and captions. As a class, writers and photographers will be assigned particular stories by Kris and Pamela, and writers will work with O'Ryan on the structure of the body copy and captions...all supported through quotes.
Why:
Working individually and in teams, all students will be able to design and present a solution to a problem or challenge by creating a plan, managing their time to meet milestones, and efficiently using tools and technology appropriate for their course.
How:
1. Students assigned to Homecoming week, the dance, and the game need to check in with O'Ryan before the end of class today.
2. Writers/Photographers: Answer the Padlet below as a warmup based on what was learned yesterday. Conti- reading below Padlet.
3. Writers: work with O'Ryan and speech and debate kids on creating headlines, and analyzing which quotes are the Interpret, Evidence and Tieback.

Writers/Photographers: All students by the end of the class period will have reflected on not meeting a deadline remembering they work as a team, begun the editing process of their current stories and captions, and taken the next steps on being organized for the next deadline.
